Most decks start life as a document, an email or a set of notes. Copilot in PowerPoint is strongest when you give it that material and a clear structure.
1. Start from a file
Create a 10-slide presentation from Quarterly Review.docx for the leadership team. One slide per key theme, a summary slide at the start and a next-steps slide at the end. Add speaker notes.Start from your organisation's template where you can. Microsoft describes Copilot in PowerPoint as respecting your company's templates, which keeps branding consistent.
2. Update an existing deck
Update slides 4 to 6 with the figures from the attached Q3 results and rewrite the headline on each slide so it states the conclusion.3. Tidy and sharpen
Make every slide title a full-sentence takeaway, reduce each slide to a maximum of four bullets, and move detail into the speaker notes.Summarise this presentation in five bullets for someone who missed the meeting.4. What to check
- Figures copied from the source are correct and current.
- Images are appropriate and licensed for your use.
- The story makes sense in order. Microsoft Copilot is good at slides; you own the narrative.
